The precious ingredients are carefully harmonised. Bergamot, lemon, and orange provide a uniquely revitalising effect. Lavender and rosemary have a calming and relaxing effect, strengthening the nerves. Neroli, extracted from the blossom of the bitter orange, has a calming effect in the base note, creating a positive mood.

Unmistakable and incredibly practical – the 4711 Original Eau de Cologne bottle design has remained virtually unchanged for nearly 200 years. And with good reason: in 1820, the distiller Peter Heinrich Molanus invented a new bottle which has borne his name since that day – the Molanus bottle.

Bremen blue, gold, and opulent ornamentation – the 4711 Original Eau de Cologne label is utterly eye-catching, and the first ever colour label for fragrances. The medals depicted on the label are just a small selection of the numerous awards the fragrance has won at global exhibitions. The characteristic colour and design continues to inspire numerous artists, designers, and other creative talents.

The Molanus Bottle

Whereas the Rosoli bottle can only be transported lying flat, the hexagonal Molanus bottle can be better stacked, stored, and transported. Moreover, the bottle design, which was revolutionary at the time of its invention, provides a greater surface area for labels, which protect the valuable content against light and of course ensure greater consumer recognition.

4711 goes Fashion

4711 presents Matthew Williamson’s Autumn/Winter 2012-13 Runway Show. The star designer has long been an avowed fan of the heritage brand. The show is exciting and opulent. The fashion is richly ornamented, in tones of blue and gold, inspired by the traditional 4711.
