Who has never heard it – the legend of the Carthusian monk who shared the secret recipe of an “aqua mirabilis” (“miracle water”) with the young merchant Wilhelm Muelhens. This was the birth of 4711 Echt Kölnisch Wasser.

For over 200 years, 4711 Echt Kölnisch Wasser has kept its promise of benefiting body, spirit and soul.

This was also the opinion of the renowned jury, which included individuals such as Prof. Dr. Heribert Meffert, Bernd Michael and Jean-Remy von Matt, who awarded it the DEUTSCHE STANDARDS brand prize. As of now, 4711 Echt Kölnisch Wasser will carry the special “Brand of the century” seal.

This award is only presented to the most successful “Made in Germany” brands of established companies that have featured on the brand landscape for many years, and which have a very special history.
